Welcome to Journey Jumpstart! I'm excited about the change you are about to experience as you embark on this eight-week journey. It is a start to a different approach to "weight loss" than you have experienced before. I've been in the fitness field for several decades, and the course you are about to start utilizes the most common-sense strategies I have found effective. The practical habits you'll learn will help you lose and maintain a healthy body weight far beyond the end of this program. I hope to make this a turning point in your life. Let's get started!
Before You Get Started
A few things will help you get off to a good start. These are:
- Time & Exercise Planner: An app or any log to keep track of daily activities & exercise.
- Food Journal / Log: This could be a simple pocket pad or app, if you prefer.
- Body Weight Scale: You will record your weight daily.
- Grocery Shopping Trip: Get the healthy items you like eating.
- Take Your "Before" Picture: At the end of the course, you will compare this to your "After."
- Quick Purge: Do a quick check-in of your fridge and pantry to get rid of any "hindrances."
Once you take care of these items, you are ready to rock! You’re prepared to go on to day 1.
Note, the online weight loss tracking will start on week 2 (day 8). You will keep track of your weigh-ins independently for the first week.

thank you for allowing me to be part of this season of your life. I know how challenging and frustrating it can be to try to lose weight and meet with failure. I also know how good it feels to look in the mirror in shock when you see how much your body is transforming, and when you fit into clothes a few sizes smaller. I want you to have these feelings. I want to be part of your journey.
